Polystyrene Foam Food Container & Food Service Ware Reduction Ordinance Starts July 1, 2019

July 1, 2019 – July 31, 2019

Starting on July 1, 2019, the Polystyrene Foam Food Container & Food Service Ware Reduction Ordinance goes into effect.  

The following prohibitions and requirements will be implemented under Ordinance No. 17-63 (2017):

  1. All food vendors are prohibited from providing food to a customer in disposable food service ware that is made from polystyrene foam.
  2. All food vendors using any disposable food service ware shall use a suitable recyclable or compostable product.
  3. All County facility users shall use a suitable recyclable or compostable product for disposable food service ware.
