County of Hawai‘i Solid Waste Division Facilities (Hilo Landfill, Pu‘uanahulu Landfill and the Recycling & Transfer Stations - including theHI-5 Certified Redemption Centers, Reuse Centers, Recycle Bins & Greenwaste recycling located at the Recycling & Transfer Stations or Landfills) will resume their normal hours of operation starting Tuesday, July 30, 2013; they were closed on Monday due to Civil Defense closures in the wake of Tropical Storm Flossie.  Go to our Facilities page for the entire schedule of our normal hours of operation.  Also the Administrative offices of the Department of Environmental Management, including the Solid Waste Division, will reopen during normal business hours today.

Please note that the Honomū, Kalapana, Pa'auilo, Volcano, & Waiea Recycling & Transfer Stations are to reopen on Thursday, August 1, 2013 on their normal Mon-Thurs-Sat schedule.
