The County’s Kealakehe (Kailua-Kona) greenwaste recycling collection area is being temporarily impacted by contractor’s repair work at the site.  The site will remain open for drop-off of greenwaste but please anticipate possible delays and possible complete temporary closure.  Work is scheduled for completion by the end of Friday, May 16, 2014.

Current hours of operation for the Kealakehe Greenwaste Recycling are daily from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

An alternative location is the County’s West Hawai‘i Organics Facility (WHOF), adjacent to the West Hawai‘i Sanitary Landfill in Pu‘uanahulu.  Hours of operation are Monday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Free mulch with assisted mechanical loading is also available at this location.
