HI-5 Redemption, Reuse and Electronics Recycling Programs at County Recycling Facilities Are Suspended Starting March 25, 2020; Solid Waste Division (Recycling Programs) Offices Closed

Due to COVID-19 concerns the Solid Waste Division announces the following Recycling Program suspensions effective Wednesday, March 25, 2020 until further notice:

  • Electronic Device Recycling Collection Program at the Recycling & Transfer Stations suspended
  • HI-5 Certified Redemption Centers operated at the Recycling & Transfer Stations suspended
  • Reuse Centers at the Recycling & Transfer Stations suspended

Private Recyclers may continue to remain open during this period so please check with them directly for locations and hours of operation.  We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and understanding.  Please visit our www.hawaiizerowaste.org website for future closure information.

Pursuant to the State of Hawai‘i Governor's Statewide COVID-19 Stay-At-Home Order the County of Hawai‘i Department of Environmental Management Solid Waste Division (Including Recycling Program) Offices are closed starting March 25, 2020 through April 30, 2020, until further notice.  You may still try to contact the Division via email, please check our Contact Us page for the relevant email address for your particular issue.
