HI-5 Redemption, Reuse and Electronics Recycling Programs at County Recycling Facilities Are Suspended Starting April 8, 2020; Solid Waste Division (Recycling Programs) Offices Closed

Due to COVID-19 concerns, the Solid Waste Division has suspended the following programs until April 30, 2020, or further notice:

  • Electronic Device Recycling Collection Program at the Recycling and Transfer Stations.Mr. K’s Recycle & Redemption has also announced immediate suspension of electronics recycling at Mr. K’s location in Hilo.
  • HI-5 Certified Redemption Centers operated at the County Transfer Stations.
  • Reuse Centers at the Recycling and Transfer Stations.

Solid Waste Division Suspends Three Recycling Programs (Electronics, HI-5 & Reuse) At County Recycling & Transfer Stations Until Further Notice (Media Release)

Pursuant to the State of Hawai‘i Governor's Statewide COVID-19 Stay-At-Home Order the County of Hawai‘i Department of Environmental Management Solid Waste Division (Including Recycling Program) Offices are closed starting March 25, 2020 through April 30, 2020, until further notice.  You may still try to contact the Division via email, please check our Contact Us page for the relevant email address for your particular issue.
