County of Hawai‘i Integrated Solid Waste Management Plan 2019 Update Public Hearing – West Hawai‘i

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Pursuant to §342G-24(b)(1), Hawai‘i Revised Statutes, notice is hereby given that public hearings will be held by the County of Hawai‘i Department of Environmental Management for the purpose of taking testimony during the Public Comment period of the County of Hawai‘i 2019 Integrated Solid Waste Management Plan Update. Public Comment period opened on December 6, 2019 and closes at the end of the day, February 4, 2020.

Any person requiring special assistance or auxiliary aid and/or services to participate in the hearing should contact the Department of Environmental Management at 961-8083 five (5) working days prior to the hearing so that appropriate arrangements can be made.

A copy of the DRAFT Integrated Solid Waste Management Plan (ISWMP) Update is available and may be found on-line at (https://hawaiizerowaste.org/site-content/uploads/County-of-Hawai‘i-Integrated-Solid-Waste-Management-Plan-Update-20190821-DRAFT.pdf). A copy will be made available for review at the Department during normal business hours, and a copy of the ISWMP can be obtained by any interested person who requests a copy, pays the required fees for the copy and the postage.  Requests can be made via phone at (808) 961-8083 or by email to: .

All persons desiring to express their views on the above matter may do so orally at the hearing and must register with the Department of Environmental Management staff upon arrival at the meeting.  Persons may also submit written testimony at the hearing.  Public testimony may also be submitted beginning December 6, 2019:  (1) By mail to the Department of Environmental Management at 345 Kekūanāo‘a St., Suite 41, Hilo, Hawai‘i, 96720; (2) By facsimile to (808) 961-8086; or (3) By e-mail to .
