Recycling Program Services (Electronics, Greenwaste, Scrap Metal/Appliance) Suspended At Transfer Stations Until Further Notice

Due to COVID-19 concerns, the Solid Waste Division is continuing to suspend the following programs and services until further notice:
- Electronic Device Recycling Collection Program at Recycling & Transfer Stations. Mr. K’s Recycle & Redemption has also suspended electronics recycling at Mr. K’s location in Hilo until further notice.
- Greenwaste Collection: Suspended at Kea‘au and Volcano Transfer Stations (updated May 16, 2020), but continues to be offered at:
- Hilo: East Hawaiʻi Organics Facility, 7:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. daily (7 days a week)
- Waikoloa: West Hawaiʻi Organics Facility, 7:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Monday thru Saturday
- Ke‘ei Transfer Station: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sundays, Tuesdays & Fridays (Updated May 9, 2020)
- Pāhoa Transfer Station: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesdays (Updated May 9, 2020)
- Waimea Transfer Station: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesdays (Updated May 9, 2020)
- Kealakehe Transfer Station: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesdays (Updated May 16, 2020)
- Scrap Metal and White Goods/Appliances Collections: Suspended at all County Transfer Stations. Please visit our Scrap Metal and White Goods/Appliances pages for a list of alternative metal recyclers.
Residents are encouraged to use the other service providers or hold onto their items until collection at transfer stations resume.
