Mayor Kenoi has approved a temporary 30-day waiver of landfill tip fees for Hurricane Iselle debris disposal at the County's two landfills (South Hilo & Pu‘uanahulu). Applicants must download the form, fill it out and attest that the debris being disposed is the result from Hurricane Iselle. Pre-approval of the request is not necessary prior to disposal of the Iselle debris at the landfills; however, if more information is needed you may be contacted for clarification prior to the granting of final waiver approval. The requests must each be approved by the Department of Environmental Management Director and the Mayor to qualify for tip fee waiver.

The Hurricane Iselle Debris Landfill Tip Fee Waiver Program will expire on September 5th, 2014. Waiver Request Forms are also available at the scalehouses at the South Hilo Landfill, the Pu‘uanahulu Landfill, and at the Department of Environmental Management's office at 345 Kekūanāo'a St., Suite 41.
