The Solid Waste Division of the Department of Environmental Management will close the Keauhou and Ke‘ei Transfer Stations on Sunday, February 13th.
The Kealakehe Transfer Station will remain open throughout this weekend, but services will be restricted to rubbish disposal only. Only HI-5, Reuse Center & Drop-Off (cardboard & glass) recycling will be available, mulch pick-up will be available while supplies last. No greenwaste drop-off, scrap metal, or white goods/appliance recycling will be allowed at the Kealakehe Transfer Station this weekend.
The Division is taking these steps in response to a shortage in manpower due to COVID-19 related issues.
The Division expects its Transfer Stations in the Kona District to return to normal operations on Monday, February 14th.
Please visit our www.hawaiizerowaste.org website for future closure information and locations, or call our Department of Environmental Management, Solid Waste Division Office, at 961-8270.
