The County of Hawaiʻi Department of Environmental Management Solid Waste Division announces the upcoming annual closure of Recycling & Transfer Stations, Landfill and Sort Station (Reload Facility) on the following holiday:

New Year's Day – January 1, 2025 – Wednesday

The County of Hawai‘i's 21 Recycling & Transfer Stations throughout Hawai‘i Island and both the Pu‘uanahulu (West Hawai‘i) Sanitary Landfill and East Hawai‘i Sort Station (Reload Facility) will be closed on New Year’s Day.  Recycling Services at the Transfer Stations, the East Hawai‘i and West Hawai‘i Organics Facilities will also be closed.

We respectfully ask for your kōkua, plan ahead and refrain from littering outside the facility gates or illegally dumping elsewhere.  Mahalo for your cooperation.
