Hilo & Pāhoa Scrap Metal & White Goods. The Hilo & Pāhoa Transfer Stations' Scrap Metal & White Goods/Appliances Collection services are closed today, as they have reached the maximum storage capacity allowed by the State Department of Health. Service is scheduled to reopen once permit compliance has been met.
Residents are asked to hold on to their material until our sites start accepting these commodities again. The County will continue its ongoing efforts to mitigate the materials on hand to allow for future acceptance.
We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and understanding. Please visit our www.hawaiizerowaste.org website for future closure information and locations, or call our Department of Environmental Management, Solid Waste Division Office, at 961-8270.
